The canvases are everything that you said wit would be. I love the support in the back of the canvases that most canvases don't have. The stretch is amazing and the smooth feeling is great.

Absolutely brilliant watercolour canvas

Absolutely Wonderful canvas to work on with watercolour!!
They stay as tight as a drum, they have a lovely surface and are ready to paint straight onto or by wetting the surface first with water and working wet into wet.
Easy to lift paint out and also to re-work a dried area by gently nudging the paint with the tip of a wet brush.
After the painting was finished I used a wax to seal the watercolour.
I love these new canvases and will be ordering more!!

My name is Graham, and I am the founder of ACF. In 2013, I was handed a strainer to manufacture in bulk as a side project. I came at it with a technical design background and immediately saw the flaws. I spent years correcting them.

2016, I started experimenting with polyester surfaces alongside artists. I became friends with an alchemist, Joe Joubert, a brilliant oil painter, and through long, heated conversations, we developed a coating nobody else has.

Only later did I read the definitive textbook used by professional painting conservators worldwide, Conservation of Easel Paintings (Joyce Hill Stoner and Rebecca Rushfield, Routledge, 2012).

As I went through it page by page, I realised ACF had independently solved almost every major issue the book describes with traditional cotton and linen supports.

The book itself confirms: “In the early twenty-first century, polyester (PET form) exhibits the best combination of properties and provides the most promising starting point to improve the performance of artists’ canvas.

That’s exactly what I had already built.
